On behalf of the New Zealand Police, I take this opportunity to wish the Chinese communities a Happy and Prosperous Chinese New Year!
我谨代表新西兰警察，祝新西兰的华人朋友们过一个幸福祥和的新年。 

Chinese New Year is a significant time of the year for us because it symbolises the family coming together for a reunion. In this, we want you to be safe as you travel throughout the country visiting your family, friends and love ones.

中国新年对于我们华人来说，是一年中最重要的时刻。这是合家团圆的日子。也正因此，我们希望大家在走亲访友的时候，平平安安出门，高高兴兴回家。

The New Zealand Police strives to be the safest country and I want to thank the Chinese community for all the support you have provided in keeping our communities safe. There is work to be done and the Police look forward to enhancing our collaboration with the community to making you safe.

新西兰警察努力让新西兰成为世界上最安全的国家。我也想趁此机会感谢我们的华人同胞，你们为维护社区安全给予警方很大的帮助。我们也希望今后不断加强与社区民众之间的协作，确保大家的安全。

2019 also marks the China – NZ Year of Tourism. This is important as the number of expected tourists to New Zealand continues to increase.  As the host of this country, the responsibility lies with all of us in making sure they feel safe and are safe in their travels. I will be working closely with our agency partners and you as members of the community in this significant event.

2019年，也是中国-新西兰旅游年。来新西兰旅游的中国游客数量也会持续增加。作为东道主，我们都有责任和义务确保游客朋友们宾至如归，旅途平安。在中新旅游年期间，我会与包括旅行社和社区民众在内的各位朋友们通力合作。
